SoOn is a research project on the topics of modularity, distribution, economy of scale, pleasure and security.

Equipped with a fuel cell, this vehicle is characterised by the dissociation of the chassis and the passenger compartment. This dissociation allows for the development of a differentiated system of offers from a minimum of standard parts : two passenger compartment sizes, different chassis sizes, several boots and containers.

The user is at the heart of the project, protected by a passenger compartment that retains its shape, totally independent from the chassis. This independence especially enables to propose passenger compartments shared by numerous models, thus providing economies of scale.

SoOn proposes to rethink automobile distribution and maintenance. The car dealer becomes a part assembler to satisfy each client request. Depending on the needs (holidays, move, city travel, group travel …), each person, at the car dealer’s, can go from a saloon configuration to a light utility vehicle or a city car. The passenger compartment remains the personal and intimate object, the rest of the vehicle becomes a service.

On the security side, SoOn goes from the present shock absorption logic to a notion of obstacle circumvention. In case of an accident, the cocoon comes away in a controlled manner.

This prospective project remains largely open. It is the illustration of the reflection possibilities of the agency on a free or proposed theme.
